The best family resort is the one that fits your group: a room that sleeps everyone, a pool with a shallow end, food on site and a short drive to the sights you plan to see. For a first trip, resorts around Vythiri, Lakkidi and Kalpetta are the easiest base. Send us your dates and family size and we suggest resorts that are free.

Two bedrooms or connected rooms, so parents and children both sleep properly.
Quiet estate cottages, many on level paths, good with grandparents.
A private villa with its own pool for larger families who want privacy.
Wayanad trips with children go best when the resort removes the small daily problems. Four things matter more than a long list of amenities:
Send us the number of adults, the children’s ages, your dates and a budget. We check which family resorts have rooms free and send you a short list on WhatsApp with photos, the rate and what is included. When you pick one, we book it and send the resort’s name, address and booking details in writing.
Families of six to eight often save by booking a private villa instead of two rooms. Ask us to compare both.
Day one: arrive by lunch, rest, then a pedal boat on Pookode Lake in the late afternoon. Day two: Banasura Sagar Dam in the morning for the speedboat and the walk along the dam, lunch, then the pool. If the children are older, add Soochipara Falls or the Kuruva Island bamboo rafts in season.

Yes. Most family resorts we suggest have a pool, and we tell you if it has a shallow end or a separate kids pool. Few resorts have a lifeguard, so children need an adult with them in the water.
It depends on the resort. Many let young children share the parents' bed at no charge and add a small fee for an extra mattress. We tell you each resort's children's rule and age limit before you book.
Ask for rooms on a level path near the restaurant. Tree houses and hillside villas often have steep steps, so we leave them out when older guests are travelling unless you ask for them.
Yes. Budget resorts and plantation homestays often have family rooms or cottages that sleep four. Tell us your budget per night and we only send options inside it.
Two or three nights is enough for the main sights near Vythiri and Kalpetta. Add a night if you want Edakkal Caves and a wildlife safari on the Sulthan Bathery side.
