What to check for a group trip
Groups have different problems from couples. Before you book anywhere in Wayanad, check these:
- Rooms together. Ten people in rooms spread across a hillside is a different trip from ten people around one lawn. Ask how the rooms are laid out.
- Food for everyone. Make sure the kitchen can serve the whole group at once, including vegetarian meals.
- Vehicle access. Many plantation roads are narrow and steep. A tempo traveller fits most places; a 40-seat bus does not.
- House rules. Campfire, music, alcohol and quiet hours vary between resorts. Find out before you pay the advance.

Banasura Sagar Dam boating and the hill walk, the Chembra Peak trek when it is open, Edakkal Caves, Kuruva Island rafts in season, and a campfire night back at the resort. Jeep safaris in Muthanga and Tholpetty need an early start and fill fast on weekends.

Questions
Can you book a whole resort for our group?
Yes, where the resort allows it. Many small resorts and private villas can be booked only for one group, usually with a minimum of two nights on weekends. Tell us your numbers and we tell you which ones fit.
Can a bus reach the resort?
Some hill resorts are reached by narrow plantation roads that a bus cannot climb. Tell us whether you are coming by car, tempo traveller or bus, and we only suggest resorts your vehicle can reach, or ones that send a jeep from the main road.
Are campfires and music allowed for groups?
Many resorts allow a campfire and music until a fixed hour, often 10 pm. Rules differ, so we confirm them before you book. Loud music outdoors late at night is not allowed at most places.
Do you find budget options for students and bachelors?
Yes. Some resorts and homestays welcome bachelor groups and some do not. Tell us that you are a bachelor or student group and we only send places that accept you.
How early should a group book?
Two to four weeks ahead for weekends, and earlier for Onam, Christmas and New Year, when private villas sell out first.
